As the June winner of Writing Magazine’s monthly poetry challenge on its ‘Talkback’ forum, I had the most enjoyable task of judging the July entries this morning. Myself and the winner of the June prose challenge had selected the word ‘mask’ as the topic for entries, and it was great to see how many different takes there were using the word as inspiration – even a fruity face mask put in an appearance!
Unfortunately, I can’t post the winner and runner up as Talkback is a subscriber-only forum, but I would highly recommend joining to anyone who needs a push to write something quickly every month – I know I always end up entering at the 11th hour!
Well done to winner, Jay Mandell with his poem ‘Mask’ and runner up, MoiraQ with her poem ‘Under a Darkening Sky’. 🙂
