The Infection – it’s spreading!

Our zombie short story anthology, The Infection from Pantoum Press in the US, will soon be available in print from Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and other fine online booksellers.

I have two stories in The Infection, which is currently available at an introductory price of £2.14 from Amazon Kindle, and at $2.99 from Barnes & Noble and  Smashwords

The international compilation of tales in the zombie genre comprises the work of seven authors based in the US, Ireland and France.

Both of my stories – ‘Head for the Hills’/”The Long Engagement of Saoirse Boyle’ – are set in Warrenpoint and the area surrounding the Mourne Mountains, where I’m from. I’ve always been told that you should write about what you know and in this case I’ve written about where I know. Being such a scenic part of the country, I thought this area might make an interesting setting for a zombie outbreak!

The project was conceived by Mitch Lavender, a writer from Texas. He invited myself and several other people he’d ‘met’ on an Irish writing forum to produce individual stories from the  point of view of survivors in a post-pandemic world. Mitch provided an outline and primer – the ‘narrative umbrella’, if you like, under which our individual tales would gather. We started working on it last September and edited each other’s stories before they were sent to an independent editor. Publication of the anthology is the result of a lot of hard effort, but it was fun producing it and quite sad when it was over…but who knows, perhaps we’ll get together again and write The Infection – It Continues!”

If you’ve read and enjoyed our stories…we’d love you to post a review on Amazon. 🙂

  1. Aces, Marion! I expect the print version to be available next week. 🙂

  2. Oh, and the working title is not “The Infection, It Continues…”
It’s “The Infection – 10 Years Later” and I’m working on the timeline now.

  3. Great news, Mitch! 🙂

    You serious about that?!
